• I completed the REALISE Work Readiness Programme in 2021 during my final year of studying for my LLB degree. At that time, I was motivated to enter the professional world but uncertain about my readiness. The programme was transformational for me—it provided not only knowledge but also perspective and practical skills. In particular, the Emotional Intelligence module helped me develop tools to manage pressure, respond to feedback, handle conflict, and build stronger relationships at work.

  Since completing REALISE, I have grown significantly both personally and professionally. I am currently part of the MTN Group Management Services Graduate Programme in Johannesburg, where I work in the Company Secretariat. This position involves important responsibilities such as conducting conflict of interest assessments, drafting and reviewing governance documents, supporting training programmes, and ensuring compliance with legal and governance frameworks. The skills and confidence I gained during REALISE truly prepared me to take on these complex tasks effectively.

  Additionally, the financial literacy course included in the programme changed how I manage my finances and plan for the future, giving me invaluable life skills beyond the workplace. Overall, REALISE was a key stepping stone in my journey from a final-year student with self-doubt to a confident legal professional thriving in a dynamic corporate environment. I remain deeply grateful for the role REALISE played in equipping me for this path.
