Transcend Bursaries
In line with the amendments to the B-BBEE Codes published on 31 May 2019, the Skills Development scorecard targets and weighting points have been revised. The target of 6% of the leviable amount for Generic Enterprises is now 3.5% for 6 points (down from the previous 8 points), with 2,5% included as a new indicator–Skills Development Expenditure on Bursaries for Black students at Higher Education Institutions, earning 4 points and weighted according to EAP demographic targets.
Transcend is able to manage all bursary funding requirements. We have built strong relationships with universities, technical colleges, FETs, and other Higher Education Institutions to identify and match the best candidates with available funding.
We ensure that bursars are relevant to the sponsor’s industry and can potentially form part of the sponsor’s future talent pipeline.
Our Approach
Calculate B-BBEE targets and determine what is necessary for the overall scorecard from the Skills Development points.
Understand the business’s needs from a talent pipeline perspective.
Identify the right institutions to partner with for sourcing candidates.
Obtain all required evidence for audit purposes.
On request, organise a meet-and-greet or PR event between the sponsor and bursars.
