Oyama Magqogqo is in the final stages of completing her degree in Applied Linguistics in Language Practice at the University of Johannesburg. Since obtaining her matric with a bachelor’s pass in 2019, she has actively pursued both academic and practical development.
While building her formal work experience, Oyama is driven, eager to learn, and committed to professional growth and making meaningful contributions. Participating in the REALISE Work Readiness Programme has been particularly impactful, enhancing her personal growth, interpersonal skills, and emotional intelligence—qualities she applies across all areas of life and work.
Work Experience
Volunteer – Cotlands Children’s Home, Braamfontein, Johannesburg
Description:
- Engaged with children through reading, activities, and educational support.
- Assisted in organising and sorting donated toys, contributing to the smooth running of daily operations.
Volunteer – University of Johannesburg Community Engagement Programme (Since 2024)
Description:
- Supported tutoring, aftercare, and feeding schemes for children.
- Assisted in event organisation and distributed food parcels to non-funded students under the GOG programme.
