Transcend Corporate Advisors arose from the merger of the transformation consulting advisory businesses of Mohlaleng Transcend and Ownership Solutions.

Robin Woolley and Bruce Hunt established Ownership Solutions in a BEE partnership with the CIDA Empowerment Fund in 2005. Before the merger into Transcend, Ownership Solutions had developed significant consulting expertise with a particular focus on democratic employee ownership and integrated corporate economic empowerment strategy and implementation. The depth of turnkey product offerings in the Ownership Solutions portfolio distinguished them as unique among South African BEE consultancies.

Mohlaleng Transcend Corporate Advisors combined the BEE consulting skills of Kevin Lester, Lisa Tait and Andrea Brown. The new business incorporated Mohlaleng Strategy Advisors, one of the oldest and most experienced economic empowerment strategic advisory and consulting firms in South Africa and BEE On Track, a BEE Verification Agency. Mohlaleng Transcend received enterprise development funding from Anglo America plc’s enterprise development initiative, Anglo Zimele, and operational support from one of South Africa’s leading black investment houses, Shanduka Group.

The merged company, Transcend Corporate Advisors, is one of South Africa’s leading empowerment and transformation firms.

Transcend is 37.5% owned by its two South African black investment partners, Nozala Investments and the CIDA Empowerment Fund. Anglo Zimele owns a further 5%, and the principals in the business hold the balance.
